Mary Kury is the mother of five hilarious children and the wife of an ISA-Certified Arborist. She and her husband, Todd, first embarked on their journey toward educated parenthood in February 2007.
After taking a 12 week Bradley Method® course dedicated to natural childbirth, they made the informed decision to hire Linda Weaver and Amy Bixby Redman as their midwives. In June, they welcomed their first daughter in a very normal homebirth. Since then, they’ve had the pleasure of adding four more children to their expanding family.
With Linda’s encouragement, Mary became certified as a Bradley Method® affiliated childbirth educator and remained so from October 2007 through September 2015. Since that time, she has had the privilege of educating over 500 couples in the Greenville Spartanburg area.
Mary is now certified through an evidence based organization called Informed Beginnings and is also an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor. Through Informed Beginnings® and Evidence Based Birth®, she will continue providing comprehensive, evidence supported, area relevant childbirth classes for Greenville and Spartanburg families.
Mary is passionate about educating families in the normal processes of pregnancy, labor, and birth, helping to involve the husband/partner as the irreplaceable support person, and sharing the most current, evidence based information regarding pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She believes that birth is transformative and empowering and her vision is to share this message with families all over the Upstate of South Carolina.
